I was seconded to a property developer during the COVID-19 pandemic to assist with the Project Management and development of a new residential project in an upmarket suburb of Pretoria. The development consisted of five luxury residences built on a steeply sloping site. I was to coordinate the design development of the project and drive the process of obtaining the necessary rights to start construction on site. This involved coordinating meetings between the architects, cost planners and the developer to ensure that the correct specification was achieved to target the required returns. I was to review the project design and advise on the practicality of construction and where efficiencies could be found. Unfortunately, the developer received an offer on the land and the project was not implemented past the design stage.
